This course guide was produced for The Bluecoat School Nottingham. The forty page booklet highlights keys features of each course in the Post-16 college with contemporary typographics and use of colour, appealing to both parents and students alike.

Jonny Norridge (newpollution) provided the Flash expertise and ActionScript development to create dynamic on screen the user interaction for this this web based application. The project was conceived and run by the team at the Jupiter Digital Marketing Agency for their client Wilkinson.

Jonny Norridge (newpollution) produced this animation working with Ico design agency for the interior communications of a large energy company. Due to the complexity of the animation and number of objects on screen, the animation was programmed using ActionScript in Flash (AS2).

As part of the brand creation for Nottingham Science Park, Jonny Norridge (newpollution) created the signage and information panels along the nature walk. The panels are fixed to wooden benches along the giant wooden lily-pad walk way. They provide information about the local natural environment and the significance of these sustainable buildings.

PACK-IN is a packaging indicator for eco-design. Jonny Norridge (newpollution) worked along side ADL Consulting (back-end/database development) in order to provide the design and Adobe Flash development (ActionScript 2.0) to allow this web application come to reality.

As part of the first website (2006-2008) creation for Nottingham Science Park, newpollution created two animations concerning two of the sustainable features of the buildings.

Jonny Norridge (newpollution) created the branding for Nottingham Science Park for the sustainable development company Blueprint. The project included the design and creation of the logo type, colour pallet, brand texture and image usage.

Impactt Limited has given a thoughtful and kind review of newpollution’s Sim*Sweatshop game. Here’s an extract:

We have stumbled across this serious, but curiously addictive, Sweatshop Sim game, which has been commissioned by NOW, Nottingham’s Arts Festival and designed by New Pollution …

The game is worryingly realistic, since as you work through the day, your energy levels fall, your eyes tire and the shoes begin to blur. In addition, what the rules don’t state are that you will be forced to work overtime without extra pay and when you are given the chance to form a union your employer hires a gang of thugs to beat you up. All of your hard-earned money is spent on food or drink to maintain your energy levels at work.

The game is well researched and designed, and has a series of useful references with back stories about workers’ lives. The use of a game to spread information about the reality of sweatshop labour is particularly innovative, and we hope this game will pique the interest of a new generation of young consumers, currently being targeted by initiatives such as ‘Blood, Sweat and T-shirts‘, MTV’s initiative with Radiohead, and the BBC’s new ‘Thread‘ magazine.

It’s definitely worth checking out if you have a spare 10 minutes.
